Finished Bike

  1. The logos on the fork blades should say onda2. That is the only thing that i have found that differentiates the frame from the real thing.

Any ride reviews ? How is it doing on the road ?

  2. I don't want anyone to think it's legit, wish I'd known I could get Chinerello decals for no extra cost before it was finished and I'd have them on. The fist thing I say is it's not a real one. I've also been banned from Velobuild for posting a link to this blog, they can't associate themselves with potential counterfeit rather than replicas. Shame they banned me, that wasn't my intention and the RFM301 has been discussed there. Maybe that's why they don't "endorse" Greatkeen.

  3. You're right about the Onda decal. The main give away is the underside shifter cable guides and front Derailleur hanger.

  4. The roads in the UK are muddy, salty, wet (which covers the potholes) so unless we get a nice dry day I won't be riding the bike. I have my old bike for winter riding. I still need to put chain guard material on the rear stay and may also put some on the underside of the front downtube.

  5. Fair enough. For me the only reason to buy a chinarello is the wavy dogma 2 asymetrical frame. Some people find it unorthodox and even ugly, i think its a marmite situation and personally love the shape. I plan to buy non decaled clear coat version for two reasons; cheaper and i can design my own decals if i wanted. There are cheaper older versions of this frame without the teardrop seat post and no inner cable routing but i dont seem to like them for some reason. My plan is to complete the build as cheap as possible with the only future upgrade being carbon wheels at some point as i do plan to keep the frame for a while.

  6. Build looks really good, very excited about getting mine now, finally got it ordered last week. How have you found the measurements of the frame do they match what greatkeen advertise?

  7. Good question Philip, when I get two minutes I'll check the size.

  8. I've taken it for a very quick ride, just 7 miles, up a 7% short climb round and back down. Everything feels good, solid. The seat post is moving and I have tightened the clamp as far as is safe so I've got some carbon assembly grease coming which should stop that problem. I'm finding the FSA K-Force bars a bit strange, to have the flat portion horizontal the bars are turned too far down, look at my build pics. I've turned them up a bit and moved the levers a bit higher but this will still need tweeking, I don't think they are quite right and can't find an FSA product to match off their site so I'll get some more experienced opinions from my club riders when the weather is finally good enough to take her out for a proper ride.

  9. I am also interested in the fram geometry comparison to the great keen advertisement on their website.

  10. Hi Mike! Awesome bike!!
How is it doing so far? I'm thinking to buy a frame set at Greatkeen, but I'm not sure if it will be Dogma 65.1 or Venge model. What do you suggest?
    Thanks,
    Diego.

  11. Hi Mike, I've been reading all your blogs regarding your chinarello build, and trying to gain as much info as i possibly can before buying anything. You've got the 53cm frame which is the size I think I am, however I have no idea about the geometries of these frames. Would you say your 53cm frame is an idea size for you, if so how tall are you? I'm 175cm tall (5 foot 9inches).
    Regards
    Lloyd
